Please note the Lunch, Gallery Walk, and Poster Award Presentation will take place from 12:30 pm on.
Posters will be be displayed during this time. Attendees are encouraged to view the gallery of posters as well as engage in the judging of posters for the "People's Choice" recognition. The top three posters will be recognized in addition to a Juried selection by judges from the SOE Research and Professional Development Committee. Winning posters must involve a faculty and a student author/s (at least one student).

Posters will be set up on display before 12:30pm. Posters will be available (if ordered through the Office of Research and Faculty Development) at the check in table. If you are providing your own poster, please bring posters to the registration table by 12:30pm. Please contact jgalcaine@vcu.edu with questions.

Best Practices for Research Partnerships in Our Own Backyard

Description: Panel discussion with School Division partners on best practices, procedures, and priorities for effective, meaningful, and impactful research collaborations to ensure mutually beneficial outcomes and positive impacts in our communities.

Best Practices for Requesting, Accessing, and Using State Level Data from the VLDS

Description: The Virginia Longitudinal Data System (VLDS) is a powerful tool for information, data, and resources that can help researchers and practitioners answer vital research questions and advance knowledge in education and associated fields. Join Tod Massa for an informative session on how to get access to this powerful tool.

12:30 pm Gallery Walk - Graduate Student Poster Presentations

View the display of collaborative research posters from doctoral students at SOE. Attendees are encouraged to view the gallery of posters as well as engage in the judging of posters for the "People's Choice" Recognition. The top three posters will be recognized in addition to a Juried selection.

1:00 pm Faculty Lightning Talks

Faculty will share their ongoing research and interests in a fun and entertaining way through Lightning Talks. Lightning Talks are short 5 minute talks presented in rapid succession. Come enjoy the knowledge sharing and entertainment with your faculty colleagues.

1:45 pm Round table discussions (Informal)

Doctoral students, guests, and faculty are encouraged to join informal round table discussions to promote networking, sharing of research ideas, developing new research collaborations and funding opportunities, IRB processes, grant writing tips, and more.

2:30 pm Adjourn

3:00 pm Refreshment hour at local watering spot (G.T. Lounge Across from SOE)
