Thank you for your interest in Virginia Commonwealth University's National Cancer Institute T32 program within the Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Program timeline: 2-years
The Integrative Training in Cancer Biology (ITCB) Program aligns and integrates with interdisciplinary cancer research efforts throughout Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center (Massey) at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center. Massey is encapsulated in VCU's elite-designated synergetic biomedical academic environment.
The ITCB Program will provide training for postdoctoral and predoctoral fellows for two years, offering a comprehensive educational experience that prepares fellows for successful, independent research careers in the broad area of cancer biology. A hallmark of this program is that recruited fellows will apply community engagement into the design, implementation, and dissemination of their research. They will apply these newly developed insights to synthesize the underlying factors driving cancer outcomes.
Fellows will have access to shared resource laboratories and state-of-the-art biomedical technologies, including: flow cytometry, transgenic/knock-out mouse models, cancer mouse models, tissue acquisition and analysis, microscopy, biostatistics, bioinformatics, and proteomics.
Formal mentoring teams will be established for each ITCB fellow inclusive of a primary mentor and a community champion mentor. Mentors will be selected from ITCB Program Faculty.
