VCU Dental Care maintains high quality of care standards for our patients. Before integrating images taken outside of VCU Dental Care into your patient chart, the images are reviewed to ensure they meet the quality standards we require. Images which do not meet these standards will not be integrated into your patient chart or used in your treatment.

If multiple images are being sent, save each image as an individual file in a JPEG or TIFF format; combine all images into a zip file no larger than 256 MB.

The following image formats cannot be uploaded:
* Paper/printed copies
* Conventional film
* Proprietary file formats
* Photos of images
* Multiple images saved as one file (such as FMX saved as one file instead of as separate images)

If the patient does not have an appointment already made at VCU Dental Care, they may not have a chart with which images can be associated. Images will be held for 60 days and then discarded if an appointment has not yet been made.

Please allow 72 hours for images to be uploaded to a patient chart. Images not meeting VCU's diagnostic quality standards will not be loaded into patient charts and the sender notified by email.
